We are heading towards West, driving through Tam Dao Karstic mountain range, to get to our project LAVIEVULINH  HYPERLINK “http://www.lavievulinh.comwww.lavievulinh.com – Sustainable development – Education – Culture – Environment – Ecotourism.

We are on the edge of Thac Ba lake, biggest reservoir of North Vietnam. Arrival for lunch, chilling out on the terrace in front of the lake, welcomed by the family and the apprentices of the project.

We will relax this afternoon, enjoying the site, learning how to paddle like Dao people, or going for a small walk around.

Quiet morning before we hit the road again,  reach Tuyen Quang province. A few kilometers more and we leave the tarred road for a short drive on tracks. We are in Green Vietnam, an ecological project run by a dynamic Vietnamese family.We sleep in the beautiful stilt house of the owner Mr. Quang, in the middle of a amazing garden of fruit trees.

Multi-ethnical atmosphere.This is the opportunity to discover and participate to the growth of a unique project in Vietnam.

Short stage today, so we can enjoy a bit more the lake this morning.Magnificent road along the fjords of the lake, surrounded by sugar loaf hills and palm trees.

Then the road goes up in the foothills of the lake, giving amazing sceneries, afterwards goes down to the valley of Luc Yen, located on the west end of the lake.

Luc Yen is a lively small town which specific economy activity is gems.We stay away from the city, in a nice stilt house belonging to our Tay friends, on the bank of a pond, in the village of ‘below’.

Today we take the road climbing with the valley of the Cong Troi pass (heaven gate) before arriving in the comfortable eco-resort of our friends Michel and Lan Phuong – They did a great job with the local people over there. The population of the valley is the main human resource for the activities of the resort; people have been trained and got skills and abilities to participate actively to their region development.

Alternatively sealed road and tracks through remote areas. Sceneries are changing every 15 km and we cross many different ethnic cultures. Dao white and red, Tay, Cao Lan, flower H’mong on the Chinese border, Lo Lo and about 8 other ethnic groups.

Night in homestay.

We drive to Lung Phin, 15km from Bac Ha. We are developing a branch of our project LaVieVuLinh in partnership with a H’mong family. Their house is located in the middle of a beautiful mountainous site, totally unknown from tourism. This is the opportunity for you to discover this area from inside, to give a boost to this social, cultural and economic project.At the end of the afternoon, we will head towards Lao Cai. We take the night train to come back softly in Hanoi. Arrival around 5h30am next morning.
